Featured Closets
This fabulous retired executive was seeking assistance with her closet, style and image. Her goal was to look more put together and expanding her look beyond jeans and casual wear. We began by cleaning out her expansive closets. Many, many items were donated and many more were tailored. Her closet was impressive in quantity but lacking in diversity. A detailed Fashion Shopping List was created then modified and maintained over time as pieces were purchased and needs changed. Shopping was extensive and there were minimal budget constraints – my only restriction was not couture. Wardrobe organization and cataloging was done season after season. Fashion Look Books (hard copy photo books) were created as outfit reference for the client. Travel Packing was also a service provided for the clients for numerous trips around the globe.
This sassy, southwest gal is no stranger to style. She and her husband traveled the globe. His job and their lifestyle required them to entertain, host and attend lots and lots of events. It wasn’t unusual for them to attend 10+ black tie events a year. In her circles she was known as the ‘most stylish’. But time passed and a few jobs/moves later brings us to where she is today. A more laid-back, casual, country-club lifestyle and a woman that has let her look…slip. Initially I was hired to clean out her closet. From there the job grew to include personal shopping, wardrobe styling, and organization. She loves cowboy boots, leather skirts/pants and soft fabrics. Unique, tailored, and boutique-looking items were added to her existing wardrobe.
An ongoing client for years. She is a high-level executive with two children (ages 9 and 6). Her goal is to find and wear pieces that are classic, stylish and tailored. Her size fluctuate between from 14 – 18W. Finding stylish, tailored pieces is difficult as most options in this category are not tailored and most are of poor fabric/quality. Her budget is tight and shopping is strategic. Assessment of wardrobe pieces is an ongoing process and personal shopping is performed month after month. Travel packing is also a service provided for both personal and business travel – India, New England, Europe and Chicago to name a few.
This laid-back, European, at-home-mom has two young children ages 5 and 2. Her goal was to look and feel more stylish. When we began her closet was very light with very little to work with. After the Initial Closet Assessment we got rid of most of what she had. Her pieces were very out of date, fit poorly, didn’t flatter her figure and did not suit her at-home-mom lifestyle. An extensive Fashion Shopping List was created as she needed a broad range of basics to build a core foundation. Everything from dresses, skirts, pants, Capri’s, sweaters, tops, coats, jackets, sweat suits, PJj’s, shoes, accessories, etc. were on the list. Her budget was/is strict and we primarily focus on discount stores and sale racks. Wardrobe organization and outfit creation was/is done season after season. She now has a solid wardrobe that we continue to build month after month with focused shopping. Travel Packing service was also performed for her trip to Europe.
This spicy, hot-mamma has four children ranging from ages 14 – 3. She was looking for help to spice up her wardrobe and style. She had a lot of beautiful designer pieces but many did not fit well or flatter. After going through her closet we cleaned out what didn’t work and created a detailed Fashion Shopping List. She needed some basics but more interesting, statement and unique items to spice up what she already had. Accessories too were a focus. Her taste is for unique yet classic pieces. She prefers boutique and designer items. She would rather fewer pieces of higher quality. Shopping was done both with her and for her. Outfit creation and an online Fashion Look Book was created.
I was hired by a mother to prepare her daughter for her freshman year at college. A major goal was to teach appropriateness in dressing. How to look stylish, hip, young, fresh and fun AND not overexposed was a big lesson. Our work began in her closet by getting rid of items that didn’t work and why. A detailed Fashion Shopping List was created which outlined outfits needed as well as specific items needed to complete ensembles from her existing pieces. She was going to be pledging (sororities) and needed many different outfits for her pledging events. The Budget was tight and shopping was specific. Shopping was done at discount retailers and off sales racks. Wardrobe Creation was done with the daughter one-on-one to teach her how to execute and create outfits on her own. In addition, a Fashion Look Book was created as outfit reference. The execution of the Fashion Look Book was instructional to demonstrate how to to modify pieces to create a variety of looks.
